1951-57 the Prague Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in the studio of Prof. Josef Kaplický
1965-79 in charge of the Studio of Glass Architecture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava

Cigler's work consists of:

  • sculptural objects (mainly from cut and optic Glass
  • the design of lighting and jewelry
  • spatial projects and compositions for architecture

Václav Cigler's works are represented in both private and Czechoslovakia republic collections in the Czech Republic: Prague, Brno, Liberec, Olomouc, Louny, Litoměřice
and other countries including: Bratislava, Rotterdam, Corning, New York, Berlin, Düsseldorf, Karlsruhe, Coburg, Zurich, Lausanne, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Leyden, Paris, Montreal and Hokkaido.

During his career, Cigler has received a number of prizes and awards both in this country and elsewhere in the world.
